Magnificent castle in the Loire Valley, with breathtaking views of the confluence of the Loire and the Vienne and the collegiate church of Saint-Martin de Candes.

This seemingly small castle hides many secrets! The architect Cailleau, also mayor of Saumur, built it in the 19th century. Its vocation was to replace the old house which very few traces remain. Like the neoclassicism of its time, its facades listed as a Historic Monument are composed symmetrically with tufa, the emblematic stone of the Loire Valley. The house faces the terrace and is adjacent to a courtyard.

The buildings surrounding this courtyard date from the 17th century and were part of the old castle. The entire exterior of these buildings is currently visible for the visitors walking through the estate. Thanks to the major restoration work undertaken by the current owners, their architectural and spatial brilliance is now in the spotlight.
